1990-1993 Director, Jazz Opportunities For Youth (JOY)

Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, NJ
Created, designed and developed program for youth focusing on instruction in jazz improvisation for talented musicians of all ages. Hired staff of professional jazz musicians, solicited and raised funding for program, gained undergraduate and graduate credit for program. Toured Eastern Europe with MSU Jumpin' Jamming Jazz (included 6 HS JOY (students). Created Montclair HS Jazz Improv Workshop (1995) and Newark Jazz Festival Jazz Improv Workshop (1994). Special Improv Workshop for visiting Buena Vista, AZ HS Band at MSU (1993).

Headed program which provided established professionals with retraining in "state of the arts" technology. Offered professional level educational experiences for "gifted and talented" students.

1984-1986 Project Director, Alpines Project

Headed teacher training program, in the arts f0r Newark School System. ALPINES (Arts Literacy Project in Elementary Schools) objective was to promote and integrate arts literacy in day to day instructional activity of classroom teachers.

1976 Co-Director, Jazz Lab, Bennington Summers

Bennington College, Bennington, VT
Designed, implemented and c0-directed program involving 30 master jazz musicians and 127 apprentices of exceptional talent. Representing USA, Europe, Africa and Japan, the program was an intensive open ended performing and educational experience.

1973-1976 Director, Rutgers' Institute of Jazz Studies

Designed long range plan, reorganization of activities, new facility, concert series, catalog of print and recorded holdings, design and scheduling of experimental educational experiences.

1972 Artistic Director, Black on Black

Carnegie Recital Hall
Created four concert series representing jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues and other forms of African-American music to examine the Black aesthetic in music.

1970 Director, Celebrate Yourself

New York State
Directed and designed program to stimulate the use of multi-art as a tool for the presentation of academics in the schools. Aimed at children of migrant workers, the program offered 40 programs in 40 schools across the state.
